(AP) — New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham enthusiastically backed recreational marijuana legalization and a crackdown on predatory lending as she outlined her list of top priorities for the 2021 legislative session.

The endorsements include major initiatives that have been championed by the governor in the past: the authorization and taxation of adult-use recreational cannabis, an effort to shore up abortion rights and a proposed constitutional amendment to tap more money for education from a multibillion-dollar state trust.

Enrollment in the state’s medical cannabis program reached an all-time high of more than 100,000 patients. Last month, the state’s cannabis advisory board recommended adding more medical marijuana qualifying conditions, including anxiety and some substance abuse disorders.
